Radio State will be airing new releases by Human Eye, Black Sunday, the Gorgon, Walls, Order... and all those bands featured on the "No Bullshit Volume 3" compilation. There'll also be a preview of the November 30th show featuring Chicago's Canadian Rifle, who will be supported by local acts Under Pressure, Search & Destroy, the Gorgon and Modern Problems. Other than that, some fast stuff, some slow stuff, some weird stuff and the odd obscurity.

Electro Quarterstaff, Velodrome and L'viv - November 2, 2007

I had a lot of fun at the EQ show. Somehow also managed to pack in 42 hours on the job. That overtime will come in handy. So I tried using my on-board flash as a fill. continually did test shots getting the best exposure without flash that I could manage with my skill and equipment, then did more test shots, adjusting my flash until I found the best balance I could manage. I can't open my lens up anymore than F3.5 so I ended up with a blurred effect, which I decided to try to use to my advantage. I'll have to experiment a lot more, especially when I get my speedlight cord. I thought the results weren't half bad. As long as I continue to recognize what can be improved on, I'll assume I'm moving forward. I do need to learn a lot about color and white balance calibration, and just need to train my eye in general when it comes to exposure and composition.
